This is a solid Marriott property. Location is good especially if your interest is the convention center or the outlet mall. Hotel is classy although a bit dated. Both valet and self parking are available. The self parking is across the street in the convention center so recommend dropping your bags with the bellman prior to parking. If you are a pageant fan, the hotel has a great collection of Miss America memorabilia dating back to the early 1900s. There’s a lounge on the 16th floor but it only provides light snacks like nuts and granola bars and there’s a Starbucks coffee machine there. Breakfast is served in the 2nd floor restaurant which is only open for breakfast as far as I know. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and service was excellent. There’s also an independently operated overpriced souvenir shop in the lobby that sells some limited food items and sundries. Front desk and restaurant staff were great. The rooms are well furnished. Mine had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Some of the features are dated such as the bathroom fixtures and lighting and there were limited plugs and USBs. Fitness room was ok with plenty of cardio machines and a dumbbell set. Overall, this was an excellent work-stay for me and I recommend this location especially if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk.
I really hate it at the Sheridan. I anticipated a higher quality experience commensurate with the room rate, which unfortunately was not the case. I could have booked a room for $100.00 a night and had the same experience. There was a time when paying $200.00 or more a night ment you would get a quality room and reasonably service. A primary concern throughout my stay has been the consistently cold temperature of my room. Despite reporting this issue to three different employees, including two individuals identified as managers, no effective resolution or genuine concern for my comfort was demonstrated. It appears that guests experiencing issues are presented with a limited choice: either to endure the situation or to depart, as staff assistance in resolving such matters is seemingly unavailable. Furthermore, the parking arrangements are highly inconvenient and costly. Self-parking is priced at $20.00 per day. The parking facility is located a considerable distance from the hotel this is the problem. Valet parking, at $31.00 per day, also presents significant delays due to the remote location of the parking area. While the hotel's proximity to the convention center is a positive aspect, and the lobby features an aesthetically pleasing display, these elements do not compensate for the overall discomfort experienced due to the cold environment. In summary, my experience at this hotel has been profoundly disappointing and has negatively impacted a significant portion of my weekend. I really hate it here. I suggest not staying overnight.
Room was ok. Bed comfortable wifi horrible channels continously blanked out saying no signal as the TV size at the most was a 30 inch if that. Front desk helpful at checking 2 day stay breakfast was the best the hostess who worked the dining area was the best I've ever had. Shower not too clean hot water for the shower was perfect. In the end there was double billing. I so expected a much better experience for it to be a Marriott/ Sheraton establishment.
The hotel was conveniently located close to the event we were to attend. The decor is not modern but unique and historic. There was leftover used soap from a previous visitor’s stay, and I also noticed that the sheets were on top of the comforter, not the standard comforter on top of the sheet. The internet was wonky but more noticeable when my best friend tried to use her tablet. For us, the beds weren’t really comfortable (mattress slightly too firm, pillows way too soft). The temperature of the shower was fantastic. As far as the service, even when we said that we were coming to open the door, housekeeping would try to use the key to open the door. That did bother my best friend and I a little. I wish the whole parking set up would have been explained more clearly because to a visitor, it can be confusing. In addition, this is the first hotel I have been to where a delivery driver cannot deliver food directly to the room. We found that out the hard way. Overall, a 3.5 stars, but rounding up to four.
To be honest, this hotel stay was not the best we have experienced. The parking was across the street and required $30/day for access. The room itself was small, outdated, and needed a more thorough cleaning (dust build up on the lamp shows that). While our room was the first on the corner by the elevators, we were not bothered by much noise. The bed linens were so old they were fraying on the edges and the lamp was so outdated its plug was 1/4 the size of our cell phone block. I understand that this is a heavily used convention center hotel but the rooms could use some care.
